Mine!

What

Australian Dance Party’s ‘Mine!’ digs into our human relationships to this term, and questions their impacts on sustainable futures. Using the mining industry as a conceptual frame, particularly recent proposals for new mines in North Queensland, ‘Mine!’ reveals a culture of short-sightedness and self-gratification via object and possession, behaviours we challenge through this work.

The second stage development of the work was performed for ACT National Science Week ACT, supported by Inspiring Australia Science Seed Grant and QL2 Dance as company in residence.

Performed by Jake Kuzma, Olivia Fyfe and Alison Plevey.
