Liz Lea
iz is a performer, choreographer and producer based in Canberra. She has toured her work internationally and been commissioned in India, UK, Australia, South Africa, Singapore and USA. Liz was the 2017 ACT Artist of the Year and received a 2017 Australian Dance Award. She directs two Festivals – DANscienCE where dance and science meet and BOLD, which celebrates the legacy of dance across all identities. BOLD III is due to run in March 2021. She has presented two TEDx performance talks and was a 2019 Asialink Resident with Maya Dance Theatre, Singapore. She was Artistic Director of Canberra Dance Theatre from 2010-16. She has toured her one woman show RED internationally and was working as a Movement Director in Kuwait When Covid hit. IN 2021 she has premiered The Point, a new company work for 12 dancers at Belco Arts and is training in Audio Description. She directs The Stellar Comapany, a non for profit arts organsiation and recently the Chamaeleon Collective, Canberra’s first inclusive dance company. In March 2022 she will present the third BOLD Festival.
Liz was an Inaugural member of the ACT Minister’s Creative Council and is represented by Karen Gallagher and Associates.
