11 Dec Immerse: contemporary dance labs

[vc_row row_type="row" use_row_as_full_screen_section="no" type="full_width" angled_section="no" text_align="left" background_image_as_pattern="without_pattern" css_animation=""][vc_column][vc_column_text] IMMERSE: contemporary dance labs are series of labs led by a practicing professional contemporary dance artist each with a focus on a particular physical and creative inquiry. Immerse enables an environment for professional dance artists to explore, test and discover, to connect and network, and to explode new ways of working/moving. The aim is to dig a little deeper into a process or approach over a three week period, working with a consistent group, extending the creative curiosities and physical development of movers and makers in the ACT. Immerse is usually delivered in three-week blocks (3 x 90min sessions across three weeks, with the exception of some full day sessions) Thursdays 7pm - 8:30pm in the QL2 Theatre at Gorman Arts Centre. *Participants must commit to the full three week block. Present and future generations, risk the loss of a healthy planet and important cultural and environmental legacy of our past. Human induced climate change, including the production of Co2 emissions, are large contributors to these detrimental changes. Taking responsibility for change we can move to reduce and counteract these negative impacts. As an artist-activist company, we devised a movement for this change Move to Zero first in 2018 with four short films and in 2020 Move to Zero 2.0, three films each with a focus on transport. Strut Your Stuff Vehicles are responsible for over 60% of emissions in the ACT, producing around 2.4 metric tonnes of carbon per car per year. So why not ditch the keys and Strut Your Stuff! Walking to and from your destination, or to the bus or tram, is not only good for the environment, it is oh so good for you! Snatch up 30-60 mins of exercise a day while you walk through the street, park or neighbourhood. Along the way meet up with a friend, have a chat on the phone and take in the natural...

We engage in improvisation, test  concepts for new projects, deepen our experience of the interplay between dance, music, visual art/projection and poetry, and most importantly develop new and extend existing artistic relationships.   Artist participation is currently voluntary. To support the program please get in touch with Alison or visit our sponsors and partners page. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]...
