Looking for something interesting to do over the summer? 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗯 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. The lab is open to two participatory roles; dancers and non-dancers so get in quick and book register to attend.

Since 2019 Alisdair has been experimenting with situational dance works led by autonomous computer programs that guide performers using text generation and computer speech. Join Alisdair as he guides dance participants through a series of his experiments as a means to ask greater questions about the role of dancers, dance makers and artificial intelligence in the context of his performed improvisational contemporary dance method.
The lab is open to two participatory roles; dancers who will perform improvised dance experiments as a means to participate, and students working in human-computer interaction interested in observing said experiments and engaging in discussion about applied computational devices in creative and artistic work. The workshop will be part dance tutorial, part performance, part guided discussion unpacking ideas and issues pertaining to the automation of creative work and the recent rapid growth of mammoth generative pre-trained transformers with models trained on incomprehensibly large data sets.

Informed by principles from the Alexander Technique and Contact C.A.R.E we will unpack the nuances of how to follow ‘the path of least resistance’. Starting with solo improvisation and moving into partnering work we will connect with ourselves and each other to experience pleasure, joy and curiosity.

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗, 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲. The program platforms company members with the opportunity to start something, develop their choreographic proficiency, creative leadership skills and test ideas for new work.
The opportunity includes a 3-day development process, fees for the choreographer and collaborating artists and video/photo documentation.

Party Leader Alison Plevey has been on an exciting

Party Leader Alison Plevey has been on an exciting adventure in Europe and the UK. She’s seen incredible performances, attended Impulstanz, shared her practice and has been dreaming up exciting ideas for ADP’s future.
Here she is teaching at @the_work_room_dance in Glasgow. Sharing her voice and movement training as well as instantaneous group composition structures.
